Postcards from Venice
Last month, Eddie and I celebrated a year engaged with a trip to Venice in Italy. Venice has been on my travel bucket list since I was a teenager, and so it felt otherworldly to finally visit! Known as one of the most romantic destinations in Europe, Venice floats atop canals and is an extraordinary, car-free city, accessed only by boats and gondolas, or on foot over more than 400 bridges. I’ll be sharing a city guide shortly but, for now, here are my postcards from beautiful Venice.

Venice’s canals are truly so beautiful.

One of many gelatos! Gelataria Gallanetto came recommended to us by a waiter and it was incredible.

Table-service cacio e pepe and tiramisu.

Obligatory engaged-anniversary photos.

We went on a Crimes, Myths and Legends Walking Tour – it was great.

Date night at a gorgeous trattoria. We decided to ‘eat like Italians’ and ended up very full, but very satisfied.

Rialto Bridge – crowded but SUCH a good vibe.

San Marco Basilica and Doge’s Palace.

A day trip to Murano. We balked at the price of glass tumblers, but made a vow to come back when we’re not deep in wedding budgets!

And across to beautiful, colour-filled, sun-soaked Burano!
