Postcards from Malaysia

18–24 October 2024

In October, my family and I flew to Malaysia to spend time with family, the first visit back since the pandemic in 2020. We had plans to fly in summer 2020, but they were scuppered and it’s been a hard six years since we were last home in Ipoh. From getting to hug my grandma for the first time in six years to adventuring with my cousins, our trip was nothing short of magical. I can’t really put into words how special it felt to be reunited with my family after such a long time!

Highlights: trekking up to KL Eco Park for the rainforest treetop walk in 36°C heat and 76% humidity to see some of KL’s original trees, a drive through the jungles, glimpsing the gorgeous towering limestone cliffs with the prettiest caves every time we left the house, ancient rainforests everywhere, a day up in the Cameron Highlands with a few of my aunties, uncles and cousins for the very first time – the tea farms were otherworldly beautiful.

Anyway! Onto some of our photos…
