Sundaze 313: Seoul, sick days, and crafting

Happy Sundaze, my loves!
It’s Friday night as I write this week’s post, and I’m tucked under our electric throw with Milo, sheltering as Storm Austen whistles through our house. I’ve had a bit of a rough week if I’m honest. I started the week under the weather, and then I got thrown into all sorts of chaos at work. Work chaos continues, but I vocalised my anxieties (for once) and I feel much better about it now. Still, I’ve been looking forward to the weekend for absolutely ages, and have been gasping to do a little personal writing and to tinker away at some hobbies.
For starters, I’ve made and eaten a delicious kimchi jjigae for dinner. And then I decided to make another Sanrio decoden phone case. I’m realising, more and more, that whenever I feel overwhelmed, I need to come offline and do tactile things with my hands. I think my phone case came out pretty cute! I used more of the decoden charms I bought over the summer, and an old clear case that’d started to yellow. (This is such a good way of covering the yellowing!) Now? Now, I plan to finish this post, write some fiction, and then finally order my wedding veil.
A mini Daisybutter makeover!
To commemorate 17 years of Daisybutter, I gave the blog a mini facelift this week. It all started when I got a notification about some broken plugins. After tinkering with those, I realised that several pages could do with an update, and then I’d been at my laptop for hours and hours, and the whole website had been refreshed. I used to love updating my layout regularly, and this little session has really reinvigorated my love for this space.

Home from Seoul
This is my first full week home after spending five days in Seoul recently! Little Mish would be in awe that thirty-something Mish has now been to South Korea three times, chasing after her decades-long interests. I actually won flight tickets in a giveaway at work, and decided to redeem them on a return flight to Seoul so I could visit Elodie for her birthday. I’d never spent autumn in Seoul before, and it was so much fun! Good food, incredible shopping, and the best company. I’m planning a series of blog posts about my travels, including the RETTRE Hongdae perfume-making class I took, and culminating in a full Daisybutter travel guide (at last).
Sick days, and sick days
Not only have I been sick this week, Milo has been under the weather too. Autumn is finally here, and it is here with a vengeance! To be honest, though, I’ve been glad of an ‘excuse’ to stay at home and enjoy our mortgage a little. Milo and I have watched plenty of Love Is Blind season eleven, made candles and phone cases, organised & Chai wholesale orders, tried new recipes, and made attempts at reading through headaches and fevers. I’m reading Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen (v. storm-appropriate!) and Girl Dinner by Olivie Blake at the moment, which are perfect for the season, I think.
