Animal Crossing: New Leaf Diary — Page Two
This post is produced in paid partnership with Nintendo UK and Animal Crossing.
Following on from my first Animal Crossing: New Leaf diary entry, I’ve had some more time on my hands to get through some more gameplay. I think I’ve knocked up a good 15+ hours on here, and Hogwarts, my town, is truly getting there. I’m also blown away by all of your sweet comments on the first entry; I’m so glad some of you have decided to pick up the game after reading it!
What I’m finding it that New Leaf is incredibly immersive and compelling to play. I said in my last post that Animal Crossing has an innate way of almost forcing you to log out of the game, but actually now that I’ve enforced the Night Life ordinance, I’m finding more and more excuses to keep playing! As many of the creatures you encounter are only available during certain hours, I feel like I ~need~ to be on the game morning, afternoon and night.
Hello ACNL addiction…
Day Five
After spending several days catching bugs and turning them in to Blathers at the Museum like my life depended on it, I’m over the moon that Phineas has awarded me with my Insect Maniac Badge. There are a multiplicity of badges you can unlock, most of which you’ll only discover when you get them. I think I’d prefer this to work to more of a ‘quest’ system, as my inner list-making and checker-off loves that kinda thing!
I had a busy day of work today, and did a bit of blogging before dinner too, so I don’t do much other than turn the music up (evening music on Animal Crossing is a whole new level of relaxing), and sell lots of fruit to quickly make money. I catch an Oak Silk Moth(!!) and call it a day.
Day Six
Today I finally decide to visit Tortimer’s Island, after unlocking it a few days ago. The gameplay is absolutely adorable!! You travel by rowing boat whilst Tortimer sings to you — my heart! — and then arrive at an island populated by tropical fruit and exotic bugs and fish. Here, there’s a box full of tools (including a wetsuit!) so that you can maximise your swag. Stupidly, my inventory was almost full upon arrival so I don’t manage to take much back. Still, it’s good to see what’s available to me for next time!
Have you been playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf? Come back in a few days’ time for my third and final diary entry.
