This week saw the November chill, turbo-charged by climate change, take hold of England. Gosh, I don’t think there was a single morning where I didn’t need to wear both of my dressing gowns just to get ready in! Nevertheless it’s been sort of exciting to bring out some of the even-chunkier knits from my wardrobe and begin the annual task of squeezing huge jumper sleeves into coat sleeves. In fact I’ve just got home from an afternoon in London and I’m still slowly defrosting even now!
For some reason this week I feel like I’ve been simmering at 80% the entire week through. I’ve had vague ideas of things I’d have liked to get done but having not had the time — entirely my own fault! — to map these out in viable to-do lists, I’ve just been floundering. I think from time to time that’s fine and completely normal, I suppose I’ve just let myself down as it’s really beginning to sink in how few weekends I have before a) our family house move, b) Christmas, and c) the end of the year. Next week’s MO? Get organised, woman!! (I actually have my bullet journal beside me, ready to get planning during Strictly Come Dancing!)
A new look!
First and foremost, let’s address the shiny new look! I became really disenchanted with my old layout this week and last night it culminated in buying a new one that I’d had my eye on for AGES and really getting to grips with making it mine.
I’m besotted with it! There are a few kinks to iron out and there, but for the most part, it’s getting to how I want it to look. You’ll notice my social platforms are easier to find, the overall homepage feels less blocky and busy, my niche categories are easy to find and browse, and it’s just a little more cosy yet slick. Happy browsing!
My AW19 hair wardrobe

A few weeks ago my friend Sophie sent me a delightful box full of Crown & Glory goodies! I first ‘met’ Sophie years and years ago in the old school blogging days and I still regularly wear her pieces, so I was thrilled to receive some beautiful headbands and hair clips to wear this season. I’m absolutely obsessed with my Aurora Crystal Star Embellished Knot Headband in Khaki, Katia Oversized Acrylic Crystal Barrette Duo and Isla Thin Braided Velvet Headband; you’ll have noticed I’m wearing them on tandem over on Instagram at the moment.
I recorded a podcast episode!
Excitingly, this week I was a podcast guest for the very first time! The lovely Amy (Read with Amy) has started her very own bookish podcast series and we recorded an episode together on Thursday. Considering how nervous I was before we began recording, it was an absolutely breeze and so much fun. Stay tuned and follow the All Things Bookish Instagram to hear when the episode goes live!
Palatino for Hannah’s birthday
On Saturday our blogging girl gang descended upon London to belatedly celebrate Hannah’s birthday! Nestled on Central Street a short walk from the Barbican, Palatino is an Italian restaurant from Stevie Parle, focusing on the food of Rome. The main draw? Unlimited. Pasta. Yes, you heard it here first! There are a select few vegan dishes that aren’t on the menu, but they were more than accommodating for my diet and I feasted on three huge bowls of pasta. And the girls had a great time as well! £25 for unlimited pasta is a bloody bargain if you ask me.
71 Central Street, London, EC1V 8AB.
