I have so much to be grateful for this fortnight that I keep feeling like Parker, Phoebe’s annoyingly upbeat and unfailingly positive date in Friends. But that’s not a bad thing at all. Each day I close the day by capturing the good things, and the list is bountiful. For however hard the first half of 2021 was, this second half has more than made up for it. Friendships, personal life, career and wellbeing are all finally on an uptick, and I am grateful.

There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite, open-hearted joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:

一. A 7k walk across several farms, the air punctuated by the brisk November breeze and great conversation and festive plan-concocting.

二. How my four-year-old cousin downloaded Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp with a view of playing it with me. Far too adorable.

三. Monogramming all of my belongings now that I have a beloved Cricut Maker 3. The crafting is truly limitless at this point. Would you like to see more content about my Cricut crafts?

四. Seeing the ACNH community thrive again! The 2.0 update and Happy Home Paradise expansion has been a real godsend.

五. My bedroom refresh. My sister and I repainted my room last week and it feels so good to be in a semi-new surrounding. I had such bad memories oddly attached to the last iteration, and now my room feels like a sanctuary again.

六. My new job! I’ve started a new freelance contract as Content Editor at M&S and I really enjoyed my first week. The hybrid working schedule has been surprisingly great for me. Thank you to everybody that wished me well on Monday.

七. Enjoying more of an online/offline separation. For the first time, well, ever really, I’m making a conscious effort to prioritise offline life and it’s been great. (It does mean I’m frustratingly poor at putting my Sundaze posts together, though!)

八. November sunsets, however early they may be.

九. How cute and cuddly Milo is when I get in on London days. Of course it’s great to spend all day with him, but there’s also nothing better than when your dog welcomes you home.

十. 3pm tea breaks.

What’re some of the petite joys from your world lately?
