Sundaze 220

Hello my loves!

It’s officially Red (Taylor’s Version) season and I am truly not okay. What a time to be a Swiftie. Red holds a unique place in my heart – I guess I can say this about all of Taylor’s albums… – and it feels unreal to relive the album in 2021, along with the Vault tracks too. When the original album came out, I was fresh out of University, full of vivacity and nursing a hopeful-then-bruised heart. Listening to Red (Taylor’s Version) as a 30-year-old feels nostalgic, sad, happy and beyond. Last night, we stayed up until midnight to watch the short film premiere hand in hand, and this is the Red season I’ve always wanted. Needless to say, this is ALL I’ll be listening to for the foreseeable and, yes, of course I’ve invested in more merch (that’ll no doubt become my style personality for the next few months again).

A little schedule switch-up!

In case you didn’t spot my Tweet or Instagram on Monday, I’m so excited to share that I’m currently working freelance as Content Editor at M&S!

I had real imposter syndrome a few weeks ago when three brands approached me for slightly longer term freelance contracts, but at last that blew over and here I am. I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into the role and I’m even slightly looking forward to breaking up my routine with the odd day in London here and there. Thankfully I work ahead of myself on Daisybutter, so there shouldn’t be a huge shift in posts around these parts but, yes, there’s my big news! It really feels like the peak, so far, of my little career.

Mid-week date night

Amidst all of this week’s changes, we headed out for a little mid-week date night, which was just dreamy. After a long day in London and a commute that took far longer than necessary, he* met me at the station for a cosy evening at mini golf and dinner. And, I wasn’t as bad as I expected! He only beat me by two points and I even snagged a hole-in-one! I’m a strong advocate of bonus mid-week date nights, let me tell you that.

*Please forgive my lack of naming – I’m choosing to be a little more private!

Refreshing my home sanctuary

Last week I completely missed penning a Sundaze because I was exhausted from… repainting and changing my entire bedroom around! After working from home non-stop since we moved in, I felt a little on top of myself in the space. I’d never even finished decorating it the first time round! Now, it’s been refreshed and the wall art updated and I love it. I’m trying to be a little more conscious of just how much I work at my desk, but I’m really happy with how it’s all come together. Keep an eye out for a full room tour along with the details of what’s around.
