Sundaze 42

February 19, 2017Sundaze

In between lengthy sessions of The Sims 4 and even lengthier sessions spent laughing until we feel drunk on laughs with my sister, I had a week this week! I didn’t quite manage to post a Sundaze update last week as I spent the day at Kristabel’s frankly awesome #youcansitwithusLDN event in London before an incredibly all-five-of-us family dinner in the evening. But this week has been long and I’ve felt jittery for much of it and so I thought it’d be apt to brew some coffee, take up a place by the window and offload thoughts.

一. On Monday, my boyfriend’s Mama dropped off their adorable pooch to spend a week with us whilst they holiday. Pixie is the sweetest little thing – she’s a Chihuahua x Jack Russell – and she’s added SO much fun and vivacity to our household! Milo absolutely adores her and can’t be without her for a second, whilst she cried the other day because we were bathing Milo upstairs. Kids…! It has, however, confirmed that when we decide to rescue a dog, we’ll most likely already be ready.

二. I took a little time out yesterday afternoon to reply to some blog comments, one of my all-time favourite blog admin tasks. And I just had to extend an overarching ‘thank you!’ for your wonderful comments on this week’s posts! I try not to beat myself up too much on the rarity of receiving comments these days as I know it’s just one of those things as Twitter, Instagram and other such channels take over as the preferred medium of chatting to bloggers, but it’s still so good to get them. I always make an effort to respond to you guys and click on links too – you can never read too many blogs!

三. Finally went to see La La Land last night! I know, I know, a thousand years late to the party but I couldn’t convince anybody to go with me. My sister is home from Uni at the moment (well, until tomorrow!) so we headed out yesterday and saw it at long last! It totally lived up to expectations and I think next week will probably consist of me listening to the soundtrack on repeat. We messed up on ticket buying though and ended up having to sit separately; me with a sharing platter of nachos and Louise with a drink larger than my entire future and wardrobe combined.

四. I shared a super cheesy but real Valentine’s post on Tuesday but didn’t really share much else of our day online. And that’s just the way I wanted it. I don’t think I’ve ever had a Valentine before and, you know what? We barely even celebrated it. It was just another Tuesday, and a sleepy one at that. I’m strongly of the belief that love can and should be celebrated everyday. And my card was totally not Instagrammable or PG, anyway!

五. Had a super relaxed Friday this week! I set aside the day to hang with Louise on another of our infamous sister dates. The day began with a lengthy 4k dog walk around the lake, where we indulged ourselves in the Pokemon GO update – JOHTO BABY! – and filled up our Pokedexes. We then headed out to try some Turkish food at a Turkish restaurant that recently opened up in our hometown before shooting an outfit post and spending the rest of the day in a coffee shop, simultaneously working and laughing deliriously at our music taste ten or so years ago. The best!

And that, in a nutshell, was my mid-February week! How was yours?

Instagram post 2194268191654680261_30616375 [ A D ☕ ] Hello Sundaze ✨ When the house is emptying but you still gotta get that décor right 😏 Thrilled with my new print additions from @juniqeartshop, they're adding so much warmth to a chilly December, and, to a basically empty bedroom. You can get 30% off orders over £29 until next Sunday using my code MICHELLE30 ☺️ #juniqe #juniqehome
Instagram post 2193805226526666424_30616375 Name a dog more festive (and cute) than @milo.chai. ... I'll wait 😏🎄✨ #dogsofinstagram
Instagram post 2193084553068073079_30616375 Central Perk vibes 😏✨ Had the best time with my brother and sister at FriendsFest yesterday! We spend all of our time watching the episodes on repeat (like any self-respecting millennial) and it was incredible to see the sets and goof around together for a few hours, dressed like Rachel Green with my Gucci bag (“it's spelled like Gucky, which can be confusing”). Except from when a seven-year-old PUSHED ME OVER by Joey's Barcalounger. Fun fact: I used that copy of Vogue in my dissertation! #FriendsFestive
Instagram post 2192254609316598078_30616375 I finished reading this over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The Flat Share is a chick lit with a twist; I really enjoyed the sub-plots and clever character building throughout, but for some reason didn't adore the book. Beady-eyed readers who also follow me on Goodreads will know I rated it three stars which seems harsh, but simply means I enjoyed the book but wouldn't recommend it to a general audience and I wouldn't reread it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Have you read this book yet? #DaisybutterReads
Instagram post 2191316238771439516_30616375 “We can go drivin' in, on my scooter... Uh, you know, just riding in London...” 🎶. L O N D O N · G I R L :: Absolutely thrilled to share this masterpiece shot by @sianshoots. The moment I heard @taylorswift 'London Boy', I knew I wanted to capture it all, dressed in my @stellamccartney × Taylor look. I'm not from London and nor do I live there; but some of the best chapters of my life began here. My first writing job, falling in love, spontaneously buying designer bags on Bond Street, cab rides with friends in a drunken mess, food tours with my girls, hours-long walks, all amidst a grey drizzly haze. It all happened, and happens, here. London, you're so special. P.S. I have categorically never watched rugby in a pub with his mates 😂 ph. @sianshoots

Instagram post 2190255097651920704_30616375 [ A D 🐾 ] When Mum's waving a treat in the air but you also know there's a camera riiight there 👀 Just entered the second day of @petplan_uk's pet Advent calendar and we've got our paws crossed. This month, Petplan have 24 treats to win every day this month, including fun toys and treats, and even a dog-friendly cottage getaway!! #PetplanAdvent
