A Wondrous Winter

Bare-branched trees, kissed by frost, almost luminous blue by morning and dusk light. Morning mugs of tea or coffee, steam rising up as I step out into the garden for a breath of fresh air. So fresh, crisp and ardently so. Added chances to thumb through beloved books; thanks to weather-impacted cancelled plans. Joyous bundles of knitwear, cossetting you through the coldest snaps. Little paws, treading oh so carefully on crunchy, frost-bitten grass. Soups, stews, curries. The thought of staycation weekends away, always in pursuit of the fabled postcard-worthy views.
