The enveloping warmth of July sunshine, beaming down and soaking into skin. Bottles of SPF lined up on top of the dresser, a soldier standing to attention every morning. Clouds of face mist, spritzed liberally every few hours. A book under one arm, a rolled up blanket in the other; the most treasurable after-work pairing. Satisfying dives into the (virtual) ocean, in Animal Crossing, of course. Sunglasses and a face mask/covering; a simple way to feel like a mysterious ‘60s film star (whilst protecting yourself and the public). Iced almond lattes, clinking as its sipped. Feet palming cool tiles. Fairy lights glimmering in the garden as dusk falls. Huge bowlfuls of summer grain salads dished out beside barbecued food, heavenly.
