Hello Sunday.

I’ve had the most lovely week, full of productive work days, strong gym sessions, delish food and the best company. So I thought I’d check in today to document all of the best parts. I feel so content with life and its next steps and goals at the moment. Things feel nice.

Heatwave calamity!

Summer in England amped up a notch this week, as we’re experiencing a pretty terrifying heatwave. I say terrifying because we’re due some 41°C heat tomorrow, which is approximately 16°C more than we usually experience during our summers. Between constantly chasing cool(ish) air from my beloved fan and keeping Milo cool with cool packs and mats, I can’t help but feel crippled by anxiety about the climate crisis that has come for us faster than scientists had even predicted. Anyway, back to a few hours of relaxation before the wildest heat kicks in…

Getting back into Disney+

This week, I finally remembered that I have a Disney+ subscription (as my payment came out and I started panicking…) and asked my Instagram community for some recommendations. And they didn’t disappoint!

  • Only Murders in the Building
  • The Owl House
  • Trafficked
  • Brownish
  • Ms. Marvel
  • Diary of a Future President

I added all of these to my watchlist, and can’t wait to get stuck in to more Only Murders in the Building after I’ve published this post.

A day in London!

Yesterday we popped to London to belatedly celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. With not much on the agenda except from a dinner reservation, we strolled hand-in-hand to the station via our new local bubble tea store (I ordered brown sugar milk tea with oat milk!). Once in London, we had a quick bite for lunch at a cute little Filipino restaurant, Kasa & Kin, which was delish! I opted for their smoked aubergine and papaya salad with a coriander and lemongrass pesto, while Eddie had their Fili cheese steak sandwich. We already can’t wait to go back, and also to try even more Filipino food!

Afterwards, we took advantage of the sunshine, filled up our water bottles and embarked on a walk around London. I’m such a walk person! We ended up on Southbank, salivating over all of the food trucks, browsing secondhand books (because we’re us) and refuelling with Slush Puppies by the Thames. Finally, we headed to sticks ’n’ sushi to celebrate Eddie’s birthday with sushi, yakitori and cocktails! The perfect date day.
