Sundaze 311: WFH, Sunday with the girls and late summer plans
Happy Sundaze, my loves!
This week, I’ve really felt the love for this space return. The September start is just round the corner, after all, and you all know how I feel about that! I suppose a big part of it is seeing how every once-nice space online has become saturated with AI. Despite finally finding a healthier balance with sort-of-necessary social media, I’m realising how little enjoyment I get out of it: from the AI-generated images and captions to the overall performative feeling and falseness in general. Captions sound hollow, images are overly curated to the of-the-moment aesthetic… I’m guilty of it too whenever I’m in those spaces. The one place where that doesn’t happen is right here: my beloved blog. I’m unaffected by any algorithm here, and it’s really special to be able look back at 17 years of my own thoughts, creations, experiences and community.

A week of WFH
I had an impromptu week of largely working from home, as the WiFi in our office was down all week. It’s funny how quickly you assimilate to new routines: I felt out of sorts being at home for so long! I really miss my work girlies! However, it has been an extraordinarily productive few days both for the work to-do list and for the home errands list. I can hardly believe that I was once a permanent work-from-home human, because I definitely thrive, now, on a mix of home and office days. As it was pre-bank hols, it ended up being a wildly busy week for me… 80% of my team are on annual leave!
Sunday in London with the girls

Last weekend, I spent a day in London with Reema and Vinita, two of my friends from work. We’d planned a whole day of eating good food, and it was so much fun! From a Turkish mezze breakfast to an Albert’s Schloss Sunday roast, we ate SO well, laughed endlessly, and enjoyed a long ol’ walk through the city too. I feel so lucky to have made such incredible pals at work – clearly three entire days together a week isn’t enough!
Our late summer plans
With late summer settling in, I’ve been trying to cram in more and more, to squeeze the last out of the season. I’m going away to Wales with my family soon for a little hiking holiday, then we’ve planned in some wedding admin sessions, girls’ nights, & Chai shoot days, and plenty of family time (we’re hosting hot pot again!). What have you got planned?
