2026’s September Start, and 75 Hard

I’ve been looking forward to September for a while now. While summer has been incredible, there’s something I really treasure about the September start feeling. And countless heatwaves only served to make me crave it more. These late summer days, where golden light hangs around only for a moment and warmth seeps through the cracks, but you can feel snug evenings steal in quicker, are so precious. Usually, I take this as a chance to reset my annual goals and get more focused, but I think I’ve been doing pretty well so far. Wedding planning is now the name of the game, and I’m enjoying evenings spent pootling at my cosy hobbies or trying out new recipes with Eddie.
This September, Louise and I have decided to try the 75 Hard challenge to reset ourselves after summer. I found it really hard to get back into routine after our summer holiday, and I want to try and build better habits again. Plus, with our wedding in less than a year, I want to look and feel at my best, which I currently am nearly there with.
Our 75 Hard challenge
- Follow a meal plan and limit indulgent sweet treats to social occasions.
- Work out for 45 minutes every day, with one rest day.
- Drink 2L of water per day.
- Read 10 pages of any book, every day.
- Eat no more than one off-plan meal per week.
- Take a progress photo once a week.
If I’m honest, I usually do live my life to a similar rhythm of the above. While I don’t work out every day or take progress photos, the other items are things that typically form my weeks and days. Like I mentioned, this 75 Hard challenge is to help me get back into routine and, hopefully, improve myself a little as well. I’ll be sharing mini updates over on my bookstagram, as well as on here, if you’re interested in following along!
