AD / How to Add a Charming Pokémon Touch to Your Home Décor
This is a collaborative post. Thank you for continuing to support the content that makes Daisybutter possible.
When it comes to decorating my small living space, I’m a big lover of a cosy, neutral aesthetic punctuated by charming trinkets that nod to my personality, hobbies and interests. Be it stacks of my favourite books, framed photographs, displays of my Nintendo Switch games, my beloved Pokémon stash or cherished Taylor Swift collection, I’m rarely at a loss when it comes to placing a personal touch to my sanctuary.
Since many of us now spend much more time at home – working and relaxing and everything in-between – I thought I’d share some helpful hints to put a charming, personal Pokémon touch to your bedroom, home office, studio or lounge.

Keep it minimal
I find that less is more when it comes to decorating a more grown-up homage to your interests. I’ve certainly experienced all parts of the decorating spectrum in my time!
My top tip? Gather 5-7 themed items to use sparingly throughout your space. Perhaps it’s adding a Sylveon figure or two to your desk, then a POP! Vinyl on a bookcase. Or, you could weave in some gaming artwork to a gallery wall: I framed mine in black frames for clean, elegant lines that look incredibly modern and timeless.
The key is to ensure that you don’t bundle too much together. Resist clutter; retain charm.
Craft bespoke displays
Something that I’ve been working on for ages is crafting a bespoke display for my home studio. Of course, that doesn’t exist yet, but this project is something that should take me a while: a Pokémon card library!
Many Pokémon masters of yore have expansive card and deck collections. The artwork has evolved so much over the years that it’s easier than ever to create a library that suits your aesthetic. With an A1 sheet of card, Pokémon card album pages and photo frame in tow, simply lay out your beloved Pokémon cards. You could do this in Pokédex order, alphabetically, by type or even in a colour code. I’m working on displaying my collection of the original 150 with my limited-edition holographic Mew, but have certainly toyed with a Fairy library and a neutrals colour palette library.

Integrate cosy gaming, everywhere
Cosy gaming is enjoying the spotlight at the moment, and for good reason.
It’s accessible and all of us could benefit from added comfort during these cost of living crisis, climate change and social chaos times. It’s really a rule that you can’t just enjoy cosy gaming, you must pick up the pins, blankets, figures, candles and merch with it. Much like adding charming Pokémon touches here and there, integrate elements of your cosy gaming, everywhere. Display your console stand centrestage, choose Pokémon home décor and organisation that slots into your home – Eevee chopsticks and tissue box holders, anyone?
