Petite joys
Life lately has been pretty full on. I feel like I’m constantly battling to stay on top of things, but it’s all little things that need to be checked off, not necessarily anything big. I guess that’s good in a sense.
I was sick over the weekend and took Monday off because I wasn’t well enough to head into London, and it proved to be an absolute godsend. I managed to watch all of HBO’s Chernobyl and take several recuperative naps with a certain fluffy white pup by my side.
Just a note, too, to mention that I’m going away this weekend so there won’t be a Sundaze post. It’s Harvey and I’s third anniversary and we’re taking a little staycation down in Margate to celebrate.
See you on Monday!

There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:
一. Sending surprise flowers to my best friend for National Best Friends’ Day. And receiving a message full of love and gratitude in return.
二. An evening shoot with Sian that was so fun and productive!
三. Love Island being back and giving me an excuse to actually press pause on laptop time. Sorry not sorry.
四. The entire process of reading Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. What a book.
五. My pup, neatly curled up in a ball by my side whilst I was off work sick on Monday.
六. Stepping indoors just as the rainfall starts.
七. Finding that, actually, my umbrella IS tucked inside my bag.
八. A satisfying and restorative first Pilates class back in my favourite studio.
九. Planning and plotting for our third anniversary – it’s tomorrow!
十. When you manage to nab the last seat on your commuter train for a 40-minute journey.
What’re some of your petite joys, lately?
