Petite joys

It’s Chinese New Year tomorrow and I’m currently feeling reflective and grateful, all at once. Over the last couple of months I’ve been learning more about and leaning into manifestation and the law of attraction, and I’ve never felt better. It’s serving me with a positive outlook and I’m already reaping the rewards; here’s to more manifestation and more light.

There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:

一. A fiery coral sunrise, soft cloudy tufts tinted as though by sunset. Golden hour.

二. The Holland & Barratt vegan crème eggs!

三. Dinner, homemade by my sister and ready for me after the World’s Longest and Most-Delayed Commute.

四. My new gym programme. It’s been so much fun getting back into gym-going and I’m really enjoying the new programme my PT has created for me.

五. Reaching 5,000 followers on Instagram last week! I know it isn’t about the numbers, but it’s pretty nice to see the numbers go up on an app where nothing is truly set in stone. Plus, it’s even more soul-soothing to see the numbers go up as I embrace the content I actually want to create over what seems to do well for everyone else.

六. The unparalleled joy of finishing a book and the satisfying feeling of closing that back cover.

七. New nails and new hair, ready for Chinese New Year tomorrow. I’ve never felt more like a ‘together gal’!

八. When you finally remember to take the crap-on-the-stairs back to their respective homes upstairs.

九. That lush five minutes in the car after a drive. It doesn’t matter how long or short the drive; those peaceful few moments are absolute bliss.

十. Taking on sustainability projects at work – it’s great when personal and professional trains of thought come together.

What’re some of your petite joys, lately?
