This week, I took some time off work. It was incredibly overdue as I hadn’t taken any fixed time off since I went back to freelancing in August. I’ve mostly filled my days with crafting, watching K-dramas, reading and going out on little walks. All the good stuff at a delightfully slow pace. That’s set to change slightly in a few weeks; hopefully I’ll be able to share why and how soon!

There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite, open-hearted joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:

一. Last weekend’s date night. We went to a local Korean restaurant for jeon, kimbap and bibimbap, and I had the best evening ever.

二. Thrice the good news! It’s been a busy fortnight here and there’s lots going on, which I might just be able to update you on soon.

三. An autumnal Sunday walk, basking in the sunshine. I met up with one of my best friends at the weekend and we had one of those chat-about-it-all wanders ‘round the lake, and I left with my heart feeling very full.

四. Monday’s successful library book haul! I picked up several reads from my list, including Rosewater by Tade Thompson, The Incendaries by R.O. Kwon, Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi and The Stationery Shop of Tehran by Marjan Kamali, and can’t wait to get stuck into them all.

五. Seeing all of my friends pick up Animal Crossing: New Horizons again, ahead of next week’s giant update. I really love the community we’ve created in that game!

六. Hotel Del Luna. For plenty of reasons I didn’t watch this K-drama when it premiered in 2019, but I finally have the time and capacity to now and I am absolutely obsessed. IU plays her role so perfectly, and the series is just immaculate?!

七. Crafting days. I took this week off from client work, and have filled up my days with crafting and it’s felt SO good.

八. A wholesome Sunday afternoon with my niece, nephew and baby cousin.

九. Country walks by the farm.

十. Pumpkins! I must admit, I’ve always glossed over the pumpkin part of autumn, but this year I can’t get enough of them.

What’re some of the petite joys from your world, lately?
